SUMMARY:How to improve noise from future wind farms – Learnings from the
 DecoWind project
DESCRIPTION:Purpose and registration\n\nThe DecoWind (Development of low-no
ise and cost-effective wind farm control technology) project\, financed by
Innovationsfonden (Denmark)\, has been running for the last 3 years. It i
s a collaboration between DTU Wind Energy\, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energ
y\, FORCE Technology\, and EMD International. Its primary goal is to devel
op tools that can improve the planning phase of wind farms and their opera
tions. This is handled both from an engineering perspective by improving n
oise propagation prediction models\, allowing for an optimal design of win
d farms including their noise impact\, and from the neighbor perspective w
ith a social impact study.\n\nDuring this 3 ½ hours event\, the main resu
lts of the project will be presented to the public on a general level\, so
that it is accessible to the main stakeholders and it remains informative
for the specialists.\n\nThe event will take place on March 23rd\, 2022 (1
pm to 4:30pm\, Danish time) at DTU-Risø campus in the Niels Bohr auditori
um\, but it will also be possible to attend online using a Zoom link that
will be provided after registration. Registration is free of charge. Howev
er\, it is mandatory to confirm your participation to this event using the
following online registration form. Deadline for registration is March 7t
h!\n\nMore information about the project plan and vision at the start of t
he project can be found on this DTU Wind Energy news page and IFD website
(in Danish). Additional information may be found on DTU\, FORCE Technology
